save the sugar cookies.

it's about 8:00pm.
we have a TON of homework still.
taylor b. has a test tomorrow and a research paper to write.
taylor o. has a articles, talks, and chapters to read, and a book to finish.
so what do we choose to do?

1. this.

2.
3.
4. sit at the dinner table for hours and harmonize to songs like, "Waking Up in vegas," "Who's Got Your Money," "Lucky," & "Dollhouse." all of our favorites.

"cabin fever." ---life is good.

we love that---taylor & taylor.

don't stop believin'.

well, where should we begin?

how about here:
wait.
we'd better back up...

friday:
some more beautiful scenery up in idaho,
and another awesome four wheeling adventure for taylor b:
there is a good story behind this picture,
but we won't go into it.
too embarrassing.

also, if you're ever in malad, ID check out me & lou's.
it's the classiest place in town.

saturday:
we went to a rainy homecoming game.
should of sold our tickets to bret.
that's all we have to say about that.

when the game ended, the fun truly began.
our SLC friends met up with our provo friends for the best night ever.

first:
52in LCD, 120hz, 50,000:1 contrast ratio, TV
+ interactive stage lights
+ interactive fog machine
+ insane surround sound in a small apartment
=
the most INCREDIBLE rock band experience of our young lives.

second:
the malt shoppe: an old-fashioned, provo style, dining extravaganza.
this started out like any other milkshake/bacon cheeseburger night.
however those nights are supposed to start.
we were all enjoying our delicious shakes of various flavors,
and jenny and taylor b. were enjoying their burgers when suddenly...

people started dancin' like crazy!
[ben found it especially hilarious.
look at that smile; what a guy.]

we really loved this, and we were sure the night just couldn't get any better.
but you know what they say,
"knock on wood!"

taylor o. couldn't resist puttin' her dancin' shoes on,
and asked jolly roger, blue-shirt to dance.

taylor o: hi, i was wondering if you teach me how to dance.
jolly roger: hey, everybody, this lil' lady wants to learn how to dance!
[diner crowd cheers]
so then, they danced the night away!!

[if you're using safari, you might have trouble viewing this. try a different browser.]

we were a litte disturbed, and slightly creeped out.
but it was worth it.
so that brings us to this:
he was sweaty, old, probably insane,
and sources tell us that he is there every saturday night.
you can bet we'll be back.
ah, the magic of the malt shoppe.
taylor's bravery inspired us all to have a little dance party of our own.
which is how we finished out the night.

we had a little trouble getting everyone to calm down for the camera,
and taylor b.'s camera was out of battery.
but it had just enough juice left for one more self-timed picture:
to sum it all up:
BEST NIGHT EVER!

"you can't forget to add in taylor dancing with that guy,
and that memorable dance move. wow. i guess we just all need to hang out more."
---leslie macfarlane.

you said it!!

we love that---taylor & taylor.

dylan, taylor b., ben, leslie.

swine flu?:
takin' precautions.

get better soon tay!!

"the physical gratification of a brownie fresh out of the oven,
could very well out-do the physical gratification of a kiss.
and there is no question that the emotional gratification of a brownie fresh out of the oven,
beats the emotional gratification of a kiss." ---taylor b.

"well would you rather be fat, or somethin' else?" ---taylor o.

"fat. definitely. i'm glad i'm addicted to brownies." ---taylor b.

we love that---taylor & taylor.

garden hose veins.

today has been nuts.
but...
don't ask, don't tell.
that's our new philosophy.

ok, it's not really.
but today it is.

we're just glad the weekend is coming right up.
also, we have to say something real quick:

happy birthday ben!!
he is nineteen today, october the 15th, 2009.
we can't even believe it.

in honor of this day, we're listing 1+9 things about ben.

1. "when i fell off my knees, it was too much."
ben is GOOD at walking on his knees.

2. speddy.

3. music.
ben is a VERY musical person. he is incredible.
along with that, he is very passionate about it.
our favorite thing is when we find a song we can share a love for.
we play it over and over again, and sing at the top of our lungs.
we often text lyrics back and forth.
taylor swift is in this category.

4. juanita.
he has a small toyota pickup truck. her name is juanita.
she comfortably seats one person and a violin.

5. he loves christmas.
we've spent many hours discussing how much ben loves christmas.
we've filmed christmas talk shows.

6. he has the kiss of death.
again, don't ask, don't tell.
good philosophy, huh?

7. facial expressions.
ben makes better facial expressions than anyone else we know of.
we won't show you proof though. sorry.

8. ben-standard time.
this is a part of who ben is.
we wouldn't expect anything less.

9. ben's fishing vest.
or lack of said fishing vest.
someday, eddie bauer will lower their dang prices.

10. ben's family and friends.
ben is one of the most loving and devoted people we know.
he puts his family above everything else,
and his good friends closely follow.
subsequently, they [we] love him too!

happy birthday ben!
we love you so much!
thanks for everything!!

"i hope you have a will. ha. ha. ha." ---doctor stewart.

we don't really love that---taylor & taylor.

p.s. we decided that if utah could give autumn a chance,
we could too. so we remodelled accordingly.

a good, quality story.

sorry it's been so long.
time just gets away from us.
both of us had great weekends.
here's what's up:

friday.
beautiful provo canyon.
a grungy shopping experience at our least favorite store.
dinner at noodles.
a visit from our SLC friends.
all-roof access.
a little jack handy.
byu creamery.

saturday.
running for the stars.
showering.
visits from good friends.
homework.
idaho.
four-wheelin'.
magazine worthy scenery.
fire-side chats.

sunday.
home.
family.
small world.
good food.
good times.

the past couple days have been rough.
but we handle the stress well.
here are some things we like to do to relieve stress.

walk through airport terminals.

climb mountains.
dress up in funny outfits and go into nice restaurants.

graduate from high school.

pull our shorts up really high, and then take pictures of it.

play tether-ball.

make our hair as poofy as we can.

take halloween headshots.

"if you open your eyes that big it's likely something
is going to pop up and get them." ---taylor b.

we love that---taylor & taylor.

chocolate-covered stamps.

for nattles & han:

guys, we made cookies.
we had the choice of temple shape, star shape or...

that is all.

"taylor. update your blog. i'm getting bored. also, who is that handsome man in your profile picture. is he your husband???" ---morgan empey.

we love that---taylor & taylor.

finding the controller.

there is a lot to blog about today.
so, we'll start from the beginning.
here is a list of things we love:
  • waking up to a drawer of toiletries floating in a thick, oily, sticky hair serum. try cleaning that one up with water. rofc.
  • not eating breakfast.
  • ahh. the smell of car exhaust in the morning.
  • wonder bread: it's fresh...fresh...fresh...
  • dropping your phone, and yogurt, and clif bar at separate times, in the middle of the same intersection as the light is turning yellow.
  • the beautiful, bright, vibrant, red, yellow and orange leaves covered in a grey, deadening frost. we like the english version of grey better.
  • rolling on the floor crying. lol.
taylor, cleaning up the sticky, oily hair serum.
good thing there were two of her;
she got the job done a lot faster that way.

in other news:
- wanna hear a funny joke? life. haha. lol.

in better news:
- veronica made pasta salad.
- we discovered taylor b. is a lot like a tree: big, tall, provides shade and is covered in bark.
- we got invited to see toy story. one & two. in 3D. but we're not going.
- we came up with some fun games today. by games we mean fights:

which do you think is more important: being the first to create a facebook account, whether it was used or not, or being the longest active user of a facebook account?

who do you think wins: the one who shot the invisible bullets, or the one who blocked the bullets with an invisible force-field?

which room do you think would be better to blog in: taylor b.'s or taylor o.'s?

- we don't fight a lot, but when we do, it is about important matters.

and for the best news yet:
- the day isn't over. hurray!

some people say that we're bipolar. to them we say: so what if we are? what's it to ya?

"the problem with uploading your pictures onto facebook, is that facebook owns them. so if you want deactivate your account, you should delete your pictures first so facebook doesn't own your soul. but then again, i don't really mind if facebook owns my soul. in fact, i prefer it that way." ---taylor o.

we love that---taylor & taylor.

capillary action.

Here are a few simple pleasures that have made the last few days the BEST.
  1. The Stick. If you don't have one, get one. You can buy one at Wasatch Running Center. Go!
  2. Stan's Diner. Classic, delicious American food made by a cute Indian man. We're pretty sure his name is not Stan. But the food was so INCREDIBLE. Bonus Points: It is a block from our apartment. We like that.
  3. Pebble ice. (You can get it at Stan's).
  4. A beautiful, Autumn day. Like today for instance.
  5. Did we mention The Stick, and Stan's?
  6. A weekend at home:
Taylor O.
  • A classic dance party in the Skyline parking lot with her favorite, classic people was a fun journey back to the good ole' days.
  • General Conference fed her spiritually and physically. Jenny McKay makes some mean chocolate chip pancakes. Thanks, Jenny.
  • She realized that she has acquired from a lot of habits from Bret Richmond Clapier and Norman Derek Jessee. Honestly, she couldn't ask for more awesome influences. The memories shared with them are truly treasured.
  • She felt honored to hear a moving love story from the infamous Brandon Moore, as he quizzed her for the test she took today. Talk about multi-tasking. Thanks, Brandon.
  • Some great laughs were shared with her family over dinner and the new tradition of a "Girls' Night Out" is a definite keeper. She wishes she was as hilariously awesome as her dad.
  • There was an extra special bond with her brother, Thatcher, when she realized that he was doing the exact same thing as her from 10-12 and 2-4 on Saturday and Sunday. That bond was even stronger for her parents, who drove through New Mexico last night.
Taylor B.
  • She started her great weekend on Thursday afternoon. She loves her job at Wasatch Running, misses working there every day, and would like to give a shout-out to all her fellow employees; they are awesome. Congrats for a successful St. George Marathon weekend, yo.
  • Friday was full of tears and laughs--good moments and sad ones. Highlights include her favorite restaurant, Zupas, with some fellow bloggers, and an evening on the town with Ben and Taylor O. ("the town" bein' Provo).
Taylor O., Ben, Taylor B., Tyler at the BYU-USU game.

  • The weather was one of her favorite parts of the weekend, and she hopes to someday live in a place where it rains all the time.
  • Sunday was an extra-special treat. She went with Ben downtown to see the last session of conference; thanks for the tickets, Millie. Seated in front of them were two grown women with crayons and coloring books--Disney coloring books.
  • Her Grandma officially penned her into the will; she gets all the umbrellas and the umbrella holder. Quite possibly the best inheritance she could ever ask for. Dinner with G & G and her mom was splendidly, divine.
  • She spent the remainder of Sunday evening in good old Salt Lake, with the people she loves the very most. With a full belly, umbrellas, good conversation, rain, basement-chats, hugs and laughs, Sunday might have cracked the top ten. Who are we kidding? Of course it did.
After a great weekend home, it's always tough to come back down here, but with a little help from Taylor S., a good run, and Stan's, today has been great.

All jokes aside. We feel so blessed to have so many close friends, and such supportive families. We're grateful for the role the Gospel plays in our lives, and are so excited for many of our very close friends to begin serving missions, and join the 50,000+ missionaries already serving. We know they will be awesome, and we couldn't be happier for them!

Thanks to everyone who made this weekend so fantastic! Truly, one of the best.

"We should get ice cream." ---Ben Taylor
"We have skinny cows at home." ---Taylor B.
"One."---Taylor O.
"We could split it three ways."---Taylor B.
"Then it would be an anorexic cow."---Ben Taylor
"And if we threw it up, it would be a bulimic cow."---Taylor O.
"Lol."---Taylor B.

we love that---taylor & taylor. ;)
