it is not no thang.

having no social life is something
you're allowed to judge us for.

having good tastes (quite literally) is
something you're not allowed to judge us for.

we make lemonade out of limes.

here's how we celebrated st. patrick's day:

1. unloading the dishwasher and steaming up
taylor o.'s hipster glasses.

2. drinking green jamba juices that look really
gross in this picture. #instagramproblems

3. making this rainbow cake:

here's the thing with this cake.
it was disastrous.
we were just about to hang up our aprons
and motherly qualities for good,
but then we decided to just cover the thing
in really sticky cream cheese frosting.
why run from your problems
when you can just hide from them?
or in this case, hide the problem itself.

turns out, everything turned out alright.

after a very intensified effort,
we found something green to wear,
ate a little end-of-the-rainbow cake,
and saw a pretty weird movie.
call it, "a day of luck."
or don't. your choice.

parking places are hard.

we spoke in church today,
and were accidentally late.
but not for our talks,
just for the meetings before our talks.
why were we late?
because we drove around for a half
hour looking for a parking spot.
a half hour is about how long it takes
to check every single parking lot on the BYU
campus, in case you were wondering.
we finally found one.
too bad it was probably a longer walk
than just walking from our apartment.
that's okay though.
we had some jerusalem buddies
over for cookies and dough,
because they came and watched us speak.
that's what you get.

last night, taylor b. went to a jazz game
with a random stranger she met at work.
and also, did she mention she sat on row 2?
nope. well, she did.
as in, the jazz players sat on row 1,
and she and the stranger (kim tanner from jackson, WY)
sat on row 2.
i think it's safe to say that was a good decision.

anyway.
tonight we had game night at the dollhouse.

here's proof:

here's more proof.
this one's in black and white to represent
the artists within us:

that's all.

what's your flavor?

in typical taylor fashion,
we've been out of food since we arrived
here in provo almost 3 weeks ago.
how and what have we been eating?
that's a good question,
to which we have an answer.
how?
like everyone else.
one bite at a time.
sometimes a swallow.
what?
that's where it gets a little bit tricky.
water, milk, chocolate, tuna w/BBQ sauce,
cookies, frozen waffles, stove-top hot chocolate,
frozen (fake) meat balls (that become unfrozen
once we warm them up in the microwave),
and rumbis leftovers.
all that sounds pretty gross, right?
well tonight we sunk down, down, down
and managed to pick up some 7 layer burritos
from taco bell. at almost 10pm.
so unlike us.
but really, just exactly like us.
because that's what we do now. i guess.

don't be mad, though.
we're just on campus for 12 hours a day,
working on important things like homework
and music projects of various varieties.
and sometimes just plain working.
life is tough.
good thing our stomachs are tougher.

many genres of pop.

this is an important article.
every woman should read it.
every man should too, actually.
enjoy.

vibration nation.

another boring post with a funny picture.

how come the funniest things are
also the most truthful?
i dunno. think about that one.

my heart's a stereo.

yes, hello everyone.
we're still here and still alive,
just like we've always been. (alive, that is).
we've got some fun things planned
for this place, but obviously
we can't carry out said plans until school
starts, because blogging is a waste of
time unless it's being used to waste time.

see you soon. merry christmas.

walking through the forest.

hello all.
we're still in jerusalem.

we just got back from a week in jordan,
and it was a really neat experience.
the jordanian people are some of the nicest,
if not the nicest, that we've encountered
here in our travels around the middle east.
amman, the jordanian capitol,
is large, clean, and has a hoppin' night life.
wednesday night, we had the opportunity
to enjoy a little dining american-style,
and enjoyed some live music.
lots of creed, hinder, and nickelback covers.
and the surrounding locals loved to hear
about our non-smoking/non-drinking ways.
they were happy to hear that as muslims,
the weren't the only ones.

we also ran into out friend from high school.
what the?
what are the chances?
well, the chances don't really matter,
because what happened, happened.
and it happened.

we've got some finals and essays and
field trips over the next couple weeks,
and then we head out to galilee for 2 weeks.
and.....we only have 47 days to go.
what the?!

even though israel doesn't really celebrate
the cool american holidays, like halloween,
thanksgiving, and christmas,
you don't have to worry about us.
obviously we'll be taking matters into our
own hands.
except, we don't really like halloween,
and probably won't do anything about that one.
except maybe eat.
so, basically, nothing different from
any other day.

but we've heard some rumors about a mean
thanksgiving feast that mahmud is cookin' up
for us american losers.
maybe even with freshly-caught turkey.
and...cranberry sauce?
we'll keep you posted.

'tis the season.
(you know how we are
about the season.)

he is dangling my keys, he even fakes a toss.

hello.
it's sunday, and it's sunday.
we are leaving in TEN DAYS.
that's really all we have to blog about.
and there's this:
see ya.

Monday, July 18, 2011

i don't want to be anything other than me.

reunited and it feels so good.
reunited cause we understood.
there's one perfect fit,
and sugar, this one is it.
we are both so excited
cause we're reunited.

and we are.
just like the song says.
it's been a while,
but time tells no tales.
like dead men.

we've got 43 days until jerusalem
and a whole lot of summer to enjoy
before that fateful day.
enjoy it with us, won't you?
text, call, facebook.
we're reachable at all locations.

tah, tah.

Friday, July 15, 2011

i'm in love with someone and that's all that i know for sure.

hi.
to start: 45 days, 3 hours and 32 minutes.
until what? jerusalem, obviously.
we're really going there.
i can't believe it.
only, i can.
it's one of those things that i can and can't believe.

it rains pretty much every day here.
i mean, not every day, but yeah.
it's like we get a morning rainstorm,
and an evening one.
sometimes i like to pretend i'm actually
living in london, or maybe the amazon.
but then i remember that i'm here in utah,
and as it turns out, fine with that.

so i saw harry potter 7.2 at midnight last night.
i have to say, it was AWESOME.
seriously, it was really fantastic.
you'll obv be seeing it when you return to the US of A.
also, it was a treat to see it with true die-hards.
i trust pictures will be posted on facebook soon.
i want you to see my costume.

today i went and got breakfast with the braydster
at this quaint little diner called "callie's."
maybe there were life-size cowboy carvings
scattered about the building, maybe there weren't.
maybe there were 3 or 4 different patriotic
displays in each of the corners, maybe there weren't.
let's just say, it's my type of place.
also, i really love it when things have a "type,"
especially when they are my type.

now clint and i are just watching
some "friday night fights" on ESPN.
you know, quality family time.
i guess that's what happens when
a brother and sister are left alone for a week.
some people party, others watch boxing matches.
i just never thought i would be the latter.
oh well. life is full of surprises.

anyway, i'll catch ya on the flip side.
mostly, i'll just see you in a few days.
can't wait.
reply soon.
lovez,
taylor.

Sunday, July 10, 2011

and then there's that.

hey tay bay.

let's get something(s) straight:
1. i like it when you ask all kinds of questions.
2. HOLY CRAP! "MISS" IN MISSIONARY. genius.

so my first point of the day is about google+ again.
tye-dye sent me an invite, so i feel like i'm on the "in."
really, though. google+ is legit.
i already sort of feel like facebook doesn't exist anymore.
after spending a little bit of time on my profile
and the profiles of my 2 friends on google+,
i went back to my facebook profile page.
i felt like i had time warped to an older,
less-cool social media decade.
so, there's that.

i'm here in provo tonight, which is fine.
i mean, it's provo.
mostly i just went to wendy's and got this:

and here's the thing with this guy.
see how all the berry sauce is positioned in the center
of the cup, with equal amounts of yogurt/ice cream
above and below it?
yeah, well, that picture is pri-tty misleading.
it all sits at the bottom.
gravity is working against me.

so then i sat on the grass and talked with
megan until the sprinklers kicked us off.
and then we just sat in a stairwell that wasn't even ours
until we kicked ourselves off.
that's when you know you're having fun.

other than the occasional child who walks in the store,
pulls everything off of every wall,
races up and down the track on the fitting stools,
and jumps into my personal bubble,
all while "meowing,"
(meeeow. meow. meow, meow, meow)
there is nothing to report here.
oh, and there's been some real rain.
yeah, there's that.

i have nothing else to say,
other than, this blog works.
it just does.
and we work it.
work it, girl.
