we make lemonade out of limes.
here's how we celebrated st. patrick's day:
1. unloading the dishwasher and steaming up
taylor o.'s hipster glasses.
2. drinking green jamba juices that look really
gross in this picture. #instagramproblems
3. making this rainbow cake:
here's the thing with this cake.
it was disastrous.
we were just about to hang up our aprons
and motherly qualities for good,
but then we decided to just cover the thing
in really sticky cream cheese frosting.
why run from your problems
when you can just hide from them?
or in this case, hide the problem itself.
turns out, everything turned out alright.
after a very intensified effort,
we found something green to wear,
ate a little end-of-the-rainbow cake,
and saw a pretty weird movie.
call it, "a day of luck."
or don't. your choice.

como dunno.
alright, fine.
so it's been a while.
but we're picking the perfect time to catch you up:
right during midterms.
sum quik pix:

us welcoming elder taylor back to the USA:
taylor b. and ally m. having fun at ben's homecoming bash:
so, you see. we still have fun even when
we don't blog about it.
other highlights include, but are not limited to:
taylor b. got a smart phone.
taylor o. still has a smart phone.
taylor b. is running again.
taylor o. has a real band.
&
our DVD player is broken.
good thing we have three fancy computers
in our apartment that all play DVDs.
what would we do without dem comps?
stay tuned for scene from our next episode.

parking places are hard.
we spoke in church today,
and were accidentally late.
but not for our talks,
just for the meetings before our talks.
why were we late?
because we drove around for a half
hour looking for a parking spot.
a half hour is about how long it takes
to check every single parking lot on the BYU
campus, in case you were wondering.
we finally found one.
too bad it was probably a longer walk
than just walking from our apartment.
that's okay though.
we had some jerusalem buddies
over for cookies and dough,
because they came and watched us speak.
that's what you get.
last night, taylor b. went to a jazz game
with a random stranger she met at work.
and also, did she mention she sat on row 2?
nope. well, she did.
as in, the jazz players sat on row 1,
and she and the stranger (kim tanner from jackson, WY)
sat on row 2.
i think it's safe to say that was a good decision.
anyway.
tonight we had game night at the dollhouse.
here's proof:
here's more proof.
this one's in black and white to represent
the artists within us:
that's all.

what's your flavor?
in typical taylor fashion,
we've been out of food since we arrived
here in provo almost 3 weeks ago.
how and what have we been eating?
that's a good question,
to which we have an answer.
how?
like everyone else.
one bite at a time.
sometimes a swallow.
what?
that's where it gets a little bit tricky.
water, milk, chocolate, tuna w/BBQ sauce,
cookies, frozen waffles, stove-top hot chocolate,
frozen (fake) meat balls (that become unfrozen
once we warm them up in the microwave),
and rumbis leftovers.
all that sounds pretty gross, right?
well tonight we sunk down, down, down
and managed to pick up some 7 layer burritos
from taco bell. at almost 10pm.
so unlike us.
but really, just exactly like us.
because that's what we do now. i guess.
because that's what we do now. i guess.
don't be mad, though.
we're just on campus for 12 hours a day,
working on important things like homework
and music projects of various varieties.
and sometimes just plain working.
life is tough.
good thing our stomachs are tougher.

also the most truthful?
i dunno. think about that one.

my heart's a stereo.
yes, hello everyone.
we're still here and still alive,
just like we've always been. (alive, that is).
we've got some fun things planned
for this place, but obviously
we can't carry out said plans until school
starts, because blogging is a waste of
time unless it's being used to waste time.
see you soon. merry christmas.

walking through the forest.
hello all.
we're still in jerusalem.
we just got back from a week in jordan,
and it was a really neat experience.
the jordanian people are some of the nicest,
if not the nicest, that we've encountered
here in our travels around the middle east.
amman, the jordanian capitol,
is large, clean, and has a hoppin' night life.
wednesday night, we had the opportunity
to enjoy a little dining american-style,
and enjoyed some live music.
lots of creed, hinder, and nickelback covers.
and the surrounding locals loved to hear
about our non-smoking/non-drinking ways.
they were happy to hear that as muslims,
the weren't the only ones.
we also ran into out friend from high school.
what the?
what are the chances?
well, the chances don't really matter,
because what happened, happened.
and it happened.
we've got some finals and essays and
field trips over the next couple weeks,
and then we head out to galilee for 2 weeks.
and.....we only have 47 days to go.
what the?!
even though israel doesn't really celebrate
the cool american holidays, like halloween,
thanksgiving, and christmas,
you don't have to worry about us.
obviously we'll be taking matters into our
own hands.
except, we don't really like halloween,
and probably won't do anything about that one.
except maybe eat.
so, basically, nothing different from
any other day.
but we've heard some rumors about a mean
thanksgiving feast that mahmud is cookin' up
for us american losers.
maybe even with freshly-caught turkey.
and...cranberry sauce?
we'll keep you posted.
'tis the season.
(you know how we are
about the season.)

friends, lovers or something.
we've been in turkey the past week.
what the heck?
is this real life?
it was a really cool experience,
but we were on different buses,
so we were apart for much of the time.
how unfortunate for us.
but we're back together now,
so don't worry too much.
we're not roommates, here,
as you may know,
which is terribly sad.
we have to make up for the lack
of pillow-talks, by spending every
possible waking moment together.
we've taken kindly to the unlimited
pitas and hot chocolate here,
but whether or not they've taken
kindly to us is yet to be decided.
the food in turkey, left something
to be desired.
mostly there was just nothing
desirable about it.
now we're home.
"home" being israel.
how weird is that?
it's a different level of weirdness
depending on where you're standing.
whatever that means.
hope you're all enjoying life back
in the united states, and on facebook.
we're sure not.
remember to email taylor b.
if you'd like more regular updates.

i can't lie, you're on my mind.
hello. hi.
we're flying to turkey tomorrow
for 7 days. nbd.
like, no big deal.
okay, it's kind of a big deal.
we've had too much fun here,
and have already met some really
amazing people.
even though we're rockin' the floor-length
skirts, and baggy pants & t-shirts,
we wouldn't have it any other way.
why? because it's our way.
and jerusalem's way.
and our teachers keep telling us that
we're locals, not tourists.
i'd say by the looks of that picture
that that's a fair assessment.
marhaba.
(that's "hello" in arabic.
there's no need to say "goodbye."
we're not going anywhere.)

(no title).
yes, hello.
we're in the holy land.
there is so much to see,
and too much to blog about.
we'll keep you updated as
often as possible,
but for now, if you'd like
regular updates,
send an email to:
she'll hook a human up.
off we go,
to where? don't know.
cheers.

he is dangling my keys, he even fakes a toss.
hello.
it's sunday, and it's sunday.
we are leaving in TEN DAYS.

strawberry lemonade & ray.
Thursday, August 4, 2011
a morning of flowers and an evening of television.
yes, hello.
hi everyone.
to start, some congratulations are in order:
bada-bing!
our amazing friends, ashley & josh,
welcomed a beautiful little girl into their family
on tuesday, the second of august, two-thousand eleven.
so, CONGRATULATIONS.
next,
taylor b. won that photo contest,
so thanks for all your votes.
third,
we leave for jerusalem in twenty-five days.
fourth,
we'd like to welcome our friend hannah
home from some worldly travels.
(better late than never).
finally,
t-minus one week until our name counterpart ,
taylor mcgann, ties the knot and seals the deal.
more congratulations will be in order,
but until then...
bye.

IT'S A VOTING PARTY!
taylor b. here.
i'm trying to win $500 in a photo contest
so i can use it for jerusalem
here is a link for YOU to vote for the picture i submitted.
yes, i know you have to "like" deseret first credit union first.
yes, i know that is not the most ideal thing ever,
but you can "unlike" it after the contest is over.
so, my photo is titled "SUMMER" and it's the top three.
it's a picture of my friend, thatcher, jumping off of
a waterfall, with me crouched down in the background.
i would love you forever if you voted for it
once every 24 hours.
gotta beat those paintballin' polynesians
and they seem to have all the pacific islands voting for them.
THANK YOU.
